WORKSHOP SEGMENTS:
Still Life & Abstract Details : Tamron Tech Rep Jeff Allen will lead the Still Life portion of the workshop where you will have the opportunity to photograph a variety of objects both big and small. Jeff will offer advice on focal length, aperture, shutter speed and ISO and guide you through the key elements of composition. We will also explore lines, textures, shapes, colors and patterns to expand your vision from still life compositions to abstract imagery. Whether you are looking to increase your knowledge or simply be inspired, this hands-on workshop will leave you with a better understanding of composition and a creative vision for capturing details.
Environmental Portraits : Canon Tech Rep John Stoilov will lead the Portrait Photography portion of the workshop where you will be working with a model to gain experience while building your portfolio! You will learn how to combine key concepts of depth of field, focal length and composition to create stronger portrait images. We will also explore light and shadow as John guides you through capturing black and white images in the camera, leading to a better understanding of contrast within your image. You will come away from this workshop with more confidence and inspiration for your next portrait session.
• You do not have to own a Canon camera to attend this portion of the workshop, all of these principles will help you improve your portrait skills, no matter what camera system you are using.
