You’ll leave the workshop with the knowledge and skills to continue honing your craft and an opportunity for you to start building a portfolio of impressive zoo animal images.

PART ONE // Online Seminar: July 6, 2023
Part one of this workshop begins with an online educational seminar on Thursday, July 6th. During this educational presentation, Sony Senior Imaging Specialist Ashley Ondricek, will will cover lens selection, composition tips, how to overcome fences, glass, and much more. Whether you are new to animal photography or an avid enthusiast looking to refine your skills, this workshop is a great opportunity to capture images of wildlife at the zoo! The online presentation will roughly cover the first hour of the seminar, followed by a live Q&A session with Ashley – so be sure to bring your questions!
PART TWO // In-Person at the Como Zoo: July 8, 2023
Part two of the workshop is on Saturday, July 8th, at the Como Zoo. This is where you will put what you’ve learned into practice! Best of all, admission is free allowing us to donate a portion of the proceeds from this workshop directly to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory helping them continue to be a global leader in conservation, animal care and horticulture with barrier-free access for all. PART THREE // Online Image Review: July 11, 2023
Part three of the workshop is an online image review on Tuesday, July 11th. Workshop attendees are encouraged to submit images they took at the Zoo for an opportunity to share your unique visual perspectives, and how that may differ from person to person. Registration Fee: $69
Registration for this workshop closes on Wednesday, July 5th at 10pm and tickets are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early! Participants will be emailed full event details and the link to the online seminar following paid registration. Please be sure to provide a working email address when purchasing your ticket, and expect to hear from us via email before this event. If you are purchasing a ticket as a gift for someone, please provide their contact information in the order notes during checkout.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
Part-Two of the Zootography workshop is a rain or shine event. If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, please contact us right away. A refund will not be issued for any cancellations made after the registration deadline has closed on Wednesday, July 5th at 10pm CST. All other cancellations will receive a full refund if the cancellation request has been made 24 hours prior to the registration deadline.
Please note: We will be using the Webex platform for the online portions of the workshop, and you can join from your browser without having to download any new software. We recommend joining up to 10 minutes early, to ensure that you have time to troubleshoot your connection if necessary. You will be placed in a waiting room until the host is ready to begin the event. For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox to view and participate in this class. This online seminars will be recorded for your convenience and will be available for you to review as many times as you’d like for 30 days.

Ashley Ondricek // Bio:
Ashley Ondricek has been working in the photography industry for over 15 years. He started with film cameras, using a Pentax K1000 and Speed Graphic 4×5, and traversed the camera landscape until finally discovering the mirrorless world of Sony. Today, most of Ashley’s creative work revolves around travel, wildlife photography and zootography, but also has experience with professional portrait and wedding photography. Ashley became a member of the Sony Digital Imaging team in 2017, and can be found working with Photo Specialty Retailers throughout the country educating customers through product demonstrations, seminars and workshops.
