Get ready to take your sports and action photography to a whole new level with an exciting two-part workshop with Canon hosted by House of Dance Twin Cities.
PART ONE // ONLINE SEMINAR
In the first part of the workshop, join us for an online seminar on Thursday, September 14th, where you will learn about the key elements that will help take your sports and action photography to the next level.
With Canon product educator John Stoilov as your guide, you will learn how to make strategic decisions when photographing subjects in motion to create more dynamic images. John will discuss camera settings like shutter speed, aperture, and auto focus, and will show you how choosing the right lens can strengthen your final images. Along the way, John will also include tips and tricks, and provide helpful advice to help you get the most out of your Canon EOS camera.
The seminar portion of this event will roughly cover the first hour, and we will wrap up with a Q&A portion at the end—be sure to bring your questions. Don’t currently own a Canon camera? No problem, the valuable insights you’ll gain in this workshop are universal, regardless of the camera you’re using. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to check out some Canon loaner gear at the live event on Saturday!
PART TWO // IN-PERSON LIVE EVENT
In the second part of the workshop, we’ll meet in person at House of Dance Twin Cities. This is an exclusive opportunity to capture the graceful, yet dynamic movements of professional dancers, featuring members of the Timberwolves Breakdance Team!

BE PREPARED: We will be using the Webex platform for the online seminar. You can join from your browser without having to download any new software, or you can download the WebEx app if preferred. We recommend joining up to 10 minutes early, to ensure that you have time to troubleshoot your connection if necessary. You will be placed in a waiting room until the host is ready to begin the event. For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox to view and participate in this class. We will not be recording this online class.

JOHN STOILOV BIO:
John has worked with Canon USA since 2004 as a Canon Camera Product Educator. He currently lives in Minneapolis MN and travels across the country photographing great events and workshops. One of his joys is getting people to start making photos, versus just taking photos. Being lucky to work with such a great company, gear and people is the drive and passion for his photography.
